For meg betyr det tid til å sette meg ned og lese en bok eller se en god film, og en av yndlingsfilmene mine nå er filmen Dare To Be Wild. Den er vanskelig å finne i Norge, men YouTube har den på filmutleien sin. Det koster bare 39 kroner å leie den, så det er ikke den helt store investeringen for en fin fredagskveld. Den handler om en irsk hagedesigner som etterhvert oppdaget at hun ikke lenger kan stå inne for den rådende hagetrenden, der hun stadig må omforme den vakre, naturlige… vel, naturen, til å bli pent pyntede og kunstige hager som hele tiden må temmes for å passe inn i menneskenes idé om hva den skal være. Hun finner en annen måte å utføre sine kunstverk på, som er fullstendig i tråd med naturen selv, og som gjør at hun isteden kan skape magiske landskap som snakker til menneskene på en måte de hadde glemt eksisterte. Utfordringen er å få hagedesignindustrien til å akseptere henne og hennes uvanlige ideer, men hun kommer seg til slutt inn på en høyt profilert hagekonkurranse… Du kan se traileren her: Dare To Be Wild er basert på en sann historie, og Mary Reynolds, den virkelige hovedpersonen, har også skrevet en hagebok basert på irske, gamle metoder for å ta vare på jorda og få den til å blomstre vilt, vakkert og naturlig. Den heter The Garden Awakening, og jeg kan absolutt anbefale den også!
